Job Description

Performance of all tasks assigned by seniors with proper maintenance of analyzers & stock in Bio-chemistry lab, and effectively following the rules as per Infection Control Department and The Indus Hospital Policy.

Regular Duties/Responsibilities
  • Analyze laboratory findings.
  • Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids including blood, urine, and CSF.
  • Check the accuracy of results.
  • Calibrate and operate all instruments in the Bio-chemistry Lab.
  • Run quality controls daily, review Lj plot, run EQA and interpret results.
  • Inform all abnormal results to the relevant doctor/consultant.
  • Proper storage of samples with abnormal results.
  • Follow instructions of infection control and ISO standards.
  • Instruct and train juniors and trainees.
  • Issue reports.
  • Reject tests if required.
  • Reject samples based on criteria prescribed in SOPs.
  • Repeat tests if necessary.
  • Manage daily inventory consumption.
Periodic Duties/Responsibilities (Monthly, Quarterly, Biannually, Annually)
  • Maintain stock of kits, consumables, etc.
  • Maintain data records.
  • Perform monthly maintenance of analyzers according to Maintenance Procedures.
  • Maintain weekly maintenance logs.
  • Communicate with supplier's Biomedical Department and Engineers if any errors or problems occur in analyzers.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly indents.
