As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a dual role as a technical leader and a hands-on contributor. You'll collaborate with your team to design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure software solutions while guiding and mentoring engineers to achieve technical excellence. Your work will directly impact the success of our projects and align with business goals, ensuring innovation, reliability, and performance in our systems.

What you'll do:

Technical Leadership
  1. Design and develop scalable, high-performance applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
  2. Advocate for best practices in TypeScript, Node.js, microservices architecture, and test-driven development.
  3. Lead troubleshooting and debugging efforts to resolve production issues and optimize application performance.
  4. Implement and enhance data workflows using MongoDB, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and Redis; experience with InfluxDB is a plus.
  5. Build and deploy containerized solutions using Docker; Kubernetes knowledge is highly desirable.
  6. Oversee CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on experience in GitLab preferred.
Hands-On Development
  1. Actively write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to set the standard for the engineering team.
  2. Participate in prototyping and building solutions for complex technical challenges.
  3. Conduct detailed code reviews and provide actionable feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  4. Contribute directly to the resolution of production incidents, applying deep technical knowledge.
  5. Lead a team of engineers by fostering collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
  6. Mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing guidance on best practices and career growth.
  7. Plan and manage sprints, delegate tasks effectively, and track progress to meet project milestones.
  8. Facilitate open communication within the team to encourage problem-solving and knowledge sharing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  1. Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements and align development efforts with business priorities.
  2. Contribute to resource planning, technical cost estimation, and strategy development.
Skills and ExpertiseTechnical Expertise
  1. Extensive experience with the MERN stack and enterprise-level software development.
  2. Proficient in TypeScript/Node.js with a strong understanding of microservices design principles and patterns.
  3. Deep knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and Redis; familiarity with InfluxDB is a plus.
  4. Hands-on expertise with Docker; Kubernetes experience is a strong advantage.
  5. Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and DevOps practices.
  6. Strong grasp of software security best practices and performance optimization techniques.
Leadership and Collaboration
  1. Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and deliver high-quality software.
  2. Exceptional mentoring skills to guide team members and promote growth.
  3. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with stakeholders.

Qualifications

What you have - Required Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. 8+ years of professional experience in software development, including hands-on coding and leadership responsibilities.
  3. Experience with high-throughput messaging systems, distributed architectures, and performance tuning.
  4. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira.
  5. Skilled in creating technical and business proposals for stakeholders.
