The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the case management team by identifying individuals in need of mental health services, providing referrals to Mental Health supported Primary Health Care Centers, integrating MHPSS services into selected centers, and conducting awareness sessions and home visits to beneficiaries.
Main Responsibilities- Support the case management team in identifying individuals in need of mental health services, providing referrals to Primary Health Care Centers, and integrating MHPSS services into selected centers.
- Conduct outreach and home visits to identify families or individuals needing psychosocial support, ensuring that those in need receive the necessary assistance.
- Collaborate with community mental health centers and primary healthcare centers to facilitate mental health referrals and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the integration of mental health into primary healthcare at Primary Health Care Centers.
- Design and conduct awareness sessions on mental health topics, educating communities on the importance of mental well-being and promoting healthy behaviors.
- Develop and deliver psychoeducation programs for clients and their families, empowering them to manage their mental health effectively.
- Conduct interviews with service users to assess their situation and provide advice and referrals, guiding them towards the necessary support and resources.
- Compile and maintain accurate assessments, evaluations, and documentation, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Conduct home visits when necessary, demonstrating empathy and compassion towards vulnerable populations.
- Collaborate with the MHPSS manager to support case management activities, fostering effective teamwork and communication.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required, staying updated on best practices and industry developments.
- Engage with the local community, building relationships and promoting program activities and services.
- Maintain accurate records and tools in coordination with the case management team, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to changing program needs and requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least one year of relevant experience, preferably in the non-governmental organization sector.
- Experience working with communities throughout a program cycle, understanding the complexities of community development.
- Knowledge of program accountability principles, ensuring transparency and effectiveness in program implementation.
- Additonal training or experience in mental health is desirable, enhancing skills and expertise in this area.
- Commitment to non-discrimination and inclusive engagement, promoting equality and respect in all interactions.
- Excellent listening, facilitation, and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and service delivery.
- Ability to mobilize and develop relationships with communities, building trust and confidence in program activities.
- Proficiency in local language; English skills preferred, facilitating communication and cooperation.
- Basic computer skills, utilizing technology to enhance productivity and efficiency.
English, Pashtu, and Urdu proficiency, ensuring effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
SafeguardingAll staff must promote compliance and ethics, adhering to International Medical Corps and donor standards, and report violations of the Code of Conduct or Safeguarding policies.
Staff are responsible for safeguarding vulnerable populations from exploitation, abuse, and trafficking, including children and at-risk adults.
