To operate effectively as part of a team of academic, research, technical, and administrative colleagues to facilitate learning, implement the academic plan of the faculty circulated by the University to the highest quality through teaching, administration, and advisory work.
- Meet annual targets assigned by the HOD/Principal.
- Work towards targets set by the Dean/Principal of the University to ensure a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students.
- Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy.
- Continue developing teaching and learning skills and contribute to the planning of teaching programs.
- Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning during lessons.
- Challenge thinking, foster debate, and develop students' ability to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
- Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements where appropriate.
- Set, mark, and assess work and examinations; provide feedback to students.
- Maintain records of students' academic progress for internal evaluation in examinations.
- Mentor 15 to 20 students according to the Riphah Mentoring Program.
- Update data in VLE and other required software as per requirements.
- Link and inculcate Islamic and ethical values in teaching.
- Participate in departmental and university committee activities.
- Ensure teaching content and delivery methods align with RIU mission and address issues related to subordinates and students' needs.
- Supervise or randomly check student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals.
- Contribute to publications or disseminate research findings through appropriate media.
- Seek practical applications for research findings.
- Promote new and applied knowledge through peer-reviewed publications.
- Conduct independent research as a principal investigator and project leader.
- Serve as a referee and contribute to peer assessment.
- Act as a line manager supervising others' work, such as research teams, projects, or PhD supervision when required.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the HOD within the scope of this job.
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Proven track record of teaching excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with educational technology and software.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Passion for mentoring and student development.
