The role of Early Childhood Assistant involves working under the guidance of experienced Educators to create a safe, nurturing environment that fosters the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children aged 0-5 years.

This position requires assisting in daily classroom activities, meal routines, hygiene, and developmental play. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning and Implementing Activities: Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities and play-based curriculum.
  • Child Support: Support children's personal needs, including feeding, diapering, and toileting.
  • Safety Monitoring: Monitor children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure safety.
  • Classroom Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
  • Relationship Building: Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Observation and Documentation: Observe and document children's behavior and development under the direction of the Lead Educator.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily routines and general progress.

The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed an Early Childhood Assistant certificate or equivalent training. First Aid and CPR certification is also required (or willingness to obtain). Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting is an asset, as is knowledge of early childhood development principles. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
