About the Role

The Early Childhood Assistant is a vital support role in our educational setting, responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the development of children aged 0-5 years.

Working under the guidance of experienced Early Childhood Educators, this role assists in daily classroom activities, meal routines, hygiene, and developmental play.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities and play-based curriculum to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Support children's personal needs, including feeding, diapering, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment during indoor and outdoor play, monitoring children to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members through effective communication and empathy.
  • Observe and document children's behavior and development under the direction of the Lead Educator, providing valuable insights for future planning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily routines and progress, keeping them informed and involved.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children, helping them develop essential life skills and coping mechanisms.
  • Adhere to all center policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety protocols, upholding high standards of quality care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an Early Childhood Assistant certificate or equivalent training is preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) to ensure immediate response to emergencies.
  • Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting is an asset, but not required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development principles, understanding the importance of play-based learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and families.
  • Patient, creative, and genuinely passionate about working with children, making a positive impact on their lives.
