The role of the Early Childhood Assistant is a vital part of creating a nurturing environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning activities and play-based curriculum to promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth in children aged 5 years old.

  • Support children's daily needs, including feeding, hygiene, and toileting assistance.

  • Maintain close supervision during indoor and outdoor play to ensure a safe and secure environment.

  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting classroom atmosphere that promotes exploration and discovery.

  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues through effective communication and empathy.

  • Document observations and track children's progress under the guidance of the Lead Educator.

  • Communicate with parents about daily routines and their child's progress.

  • Provide comfort, support, and guidance to help children manage their emotions and develop self-awareness.

  • Foster an understanding of center policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an Early Childhood Assistant certificate or equivalent training is preferred.

  • Holding current First Aid and CPR certification or being willing to obtain it.

  • Prior experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles is essential.

  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Exhibiting patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children.
