Senior Software Architect

The ideal candidate will focus on implementing e-commerce and business application solutions as part of a global project team.

Typically, you will be paired with consultants and engineers in the USA to deliver highly sophisticated and challenging solutions.

This position interacts with senior leadership and customers frequently, requiring superior technical communication and English language skills.

As a senior member of the Engineering team, you are expected to:

  • Bring a hands-on approach to custom code development and guide junior staff.
  • Assume complete responsibility for the project development life cycle from ideation to solution architecture and development through testing, launch, and support.
  • Plan, develop, and implement various features, functionality, and tools.
  • Have a fundamental impact on all aspects of the assigned technical project and/or platform, including back-end development and maintenance, database architecture, and front-end layout and design.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, a self-starter, always learning, and willing to expand their horizons.

This role plays a key part in developing, managing, and supporting several key e-commerce projects for our global client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable software applications using Object Oriented Programming / Modular Programming.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify project requirements and develop functional specifications.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software products using Agile methodologies.
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our software offerings.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience with both Front and Back end Development of Object Oriented Programming / Modular Programming.
  • A strong understanding of MVC Design Pattern and Frameworks is essential.
  • Front-end Development including jQuery is essential.
  • A working understanding of Ajax is essential.
  • A strong knowledge of Web Services Development, JSON, and SOAP-based technologies is essential.
  • Experience with common Third Party APIs, such as Google, Facebook, and eBay.
  • An understanding of Open Source Projects like Apache OFBiz, WebERP, OpenERP, Magento, etc.
  • A strong knowledge of Relational Databases, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Data Import/Export Utilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of GIT, SVN, TFS, and other version control systems.
  • Experience of the full Software Development Life Cycle: from requirement gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing, and delivery.
  • Knowledge of Smarty Templating Framework.
  • Commercial experience in Web Development/Software Development in both PHP and C# programming languages.
Following Skills Are Highly Desirable:
  • Experience with 3rd party Search Technologies such as SOLR.
  • Data Mining and Machine Learning Techniques.
  • A working knowledge of SEO and SEM.
  • Experience of working with heavy Data-Centric Applications.
  • Previous experience working for a B2B internet company is a plus.
  • Magento Developer or Developer Plus Certification.
  • Experience with Reporting Tools like Crystal Reports and Enterprise Report Writer.
  • Knowledge of Front-end and Graphics Designs.
  • An understanding of Object Recognition technologies and theories.
