Your Database Engineer Role

Design, develop, optimize, and maintain databases generating business-critical reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relational and non-relational database design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support data extraction and transformation.
  • Develop, schedule, and automate recurring and ad hoc reports using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Evaluate data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems.
  • Assist in data migration, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Participate in code reviews, deployment processes, and documentation efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with data analysts, software engineers, and QA teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
  • Hands-on experience with reporting and visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.
  • Basic scripting knowledge in Python or similar.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
