Job Title: Senior Legal Professional

The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned legal expert with a proven track record of preparing and reviewing contracts that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screen and evaluate agreements/contracts, including service level agreements, gas sale and purchase agreements (upstream and downstream), and procurement contracts under relevant regulations.
  • Provide timely and informed legal advice to user departments, ensuring that agreements serve the company's interests and highlighting unfavorable terms.
  • Stay up-to-date on impending legislation and its impact on the company, recommending appropriate responses to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to resolve contract-related issues and provide expert guidance on legal matters.
  • Assist in drafting contracts, MoUs, and non-disclosure agreements for commercial transactions, ensuring that they are legally sound and align with business goals.
  • Prepare amendments to existing contracts, considering legal implications and safeguarding company interests.
  • Review tenancy and lease agreements, providing feedback to relevant departments to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Analyze court decisions on legal issues, assess their impact on operations, and discuss options with superiors to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external law firms to obtain specialized legal opinions and ensure requirements are met.
  • Participate in negotiations for gas sale agreements within the industry, ensuring that legal aspects are addressed.
  • Provide legal opinions and guidance on issues and queries from departments, maintaining a high level of professionalism and expertise.
  • Represent the company in government and legal forums on legislative matters as required, promoting the company's interests.
  • Assist legal counsel in managing lawsuits, including filing and follow-up, to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Attend court hearings on behalf of the company when necessary, demonstrating a commitment to upholding the company's values.
  • Prepare reports on contract progress and legal document vetting, ensuring that stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Support junior staff in drafting and legal analysis, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Identify, assess, and develop strategies for legal risks, monitoring their management to minimize potential impacts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely risk reporting, maintaining a proactive approach to risk management.
