The Role
This key strategic position ensures workforce planning and capability deployment align with business objectives across multiple departments. The successful candidate will have deep insight into operational requirements, balancing forecasted and actual workforce demands for efficiency and effectiveness.
You will work closely with operational leaders to optimise resource utilisation, cost management, and process improvements. By providing real-time insights and strategic workforce solutions, this role ensures the organisation meets both short-term operational needs and long-term business goals.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement workforce plans that meet operational demands, ensuring high customer satisfaction levels are achieved and maintained.
- Lead and manage a team in the absence of senior leadership, providing guidance and direction to achieve operational objectives.
- Provide expertise and awareness on operational service delivery models, ensuring effective collaboration and communication with stakeholders.
- Support an optimised approach to delivery through collaborative working, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Deploy resources to maximise operational efficiency, identifying future capability and skills requirements and capturing these in the Operational Workforce Plan.
- Monitor and report on operational performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve service delivery.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place to support operational activities, maintaining transparency and accountability.
- Lead strategic assessment and development of required skills and knowledge to support current and future operational capabilities.
- Work with stakeholders to align and deliver an appropriate training strategy, ensuring employees have the necessary skills and competencies to meet operational demands.
- Maintain and promote high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality, demonstrating personal leadership qualities and commitment to excellence.
Your Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in workforce planning, operations management, or resource deployment within a complex business environment.
- Understanding of operational processes and their impact on workforce strategies.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data, develop metrics and KPIs, and report to a senior level.
- Experience working across multiple departments, sites, or business units, balancing competing priorities and delivering results.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others.
- Proficiency in workforce planning tools and analytics software, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
