Job Title: Software Engineering Manager, Backend

We are seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Manager to lead our backend team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for defining and implementing technology vision for fleet & driver safety features.

Our ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in software engineering or related domains, with a strong background in agile development, cloud computing, build tools, front-end engineering, and QA. They should have a proven track record as a nimble thinker and doer, with the ability to perform architectural work and definition of requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement technology vision for fleet & driver safety features.
  • Manage engineering teams to achieve product and business outcomes.
  • Develop long-term product roadmaps in collaboration with product teams.
  • Lead technical design discussions with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive execution, launch, and daily operations of functionalities.
  • Introduce and evolve development processes.
  • Develop best practices and coding standards.
  • Hire, manage, and develop diverse teams of engineers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in computer science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering or related domains.
  • Experience in high-throughput systems.
  • 3+ years of experience managing 10+ engineers.
  • 5+ years experience in building distributed systems.
  • Technical depth in agile development, cloud computing, build tools, front-end engineering, and QA.
  • Ability to perform architectural work and definition of requirements.
  • Proven track record as a nimble thinker and doer.
  • High degree of comfort with short release cycles and owning software lifecycle.
  • Passion for experimentation and learning.
