Country Programme Lead

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead our country programme and take on strategic responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the country strategy through quality programming, liaising with funding partners, and managing a diverse team of in-country staff. They will report to the Director, Asia Region and receive support from various sources within BRAC International.

About the Role:
  • Uphold and promote BRAC's values and mission in the host country
  • Lead programme managers in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects
  • Create opportunities to initiate new projects and programmes
  • Participate in programme development and proposal writing
  • Ensure timely and accurate flow of strategic, management, and operational reports
  • Supervise budget monitoring and ensure adequate systems are in place for programme procurements and asset management
  • Represent BRAC to governments, partners, donors, and other stakeholders
  • Direct and manage staffing in the country, focusing on developing capabilities and creating ownership among local staff
  • Ensure proper and transparent management of resources and reporting systems
Requirements:
  • Strong commitment to BRAC's mission, approach, and values

  • Flexible and adaptable with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team
  • Good understanding and ability to design emergency programmes
  • Proven experience in fund raising and programme development
  • Demonstrated experience working with partners to achieve programme results
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop strong relationships with external organisations and stakeholders

Educational Requirements:

Masters or equivalent degree in Development studies or any other relevant subject from a recognised university with minimum second class/division or equivalent CGPA in all academic records.

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience with proven programme management in a developing country setting, with at least 5 years in senior management position
  • Professional knowledge of diverse development approaches
  • Preference for experience in Education Programming in developing countries
