Regenerative Medicine Researcher

Post-doctoral researchers in regenerative medicine and stem cell biology are sought to contribute to a translational vision science program. The role focuses on exploring the therapeutic potential of stem cells for glaucoma through developing methods to differentiate stem cells into functional retinal ganglion cells, evaluating their safety and effectiveness in animal models, and creating techniques for transplanting these cells while investigating neuroprotective agents.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the team lead, organizing material, keeping records, researching current trends, and conducting periodic reviews with presentations to the faculty about project progress. They will also contribute to course material development, track project progress, apply laboratory protocols, aid administration, build an image for the program, and ensure meeting timelines.
Requirements include a PhD in the relevant subject area or its equivalent, background in wet laboratory experience including stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, cell biology research, molecular biology research, biochemical techniques, animal handling, tissue harvesting, imaging techniques, bench-side experience, and passion for research. Relevant publications and good communication skills are also essential.
