Job Title: Technical Leadership Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned technical leader to anchor our Development team, driving innovation and advancement in our primary tech stack.

The ideal candidate will have a rich expertise in software development principles, contemporary technologies, and architectural nuances. With hands-on experience in languages such as PHP, TypeScript, and Golang, you will be a key contributor to shaping our technology roadmap and ensuring the adaptability, scalability, and reliability of our Platform-as-a-Product initiative.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Visionary: Develop and implement engineering best practices, encompassing coding standards, design guidelines, testing methodologies, and development workflows.
  2. Strategic Collaborator: Work closely with Software Engineers to craft intricate technical designs and sculpt a future-proof technical roadmap.
  3. Cultural Ambassador: Foster a culture of perpetual learning and growth within the organisation, encouraging diversity and championing varied perspectives and backgrounds.
  4. Technical Debt Manager: Identify, analyse, and manage technical debt within your squad and across the organisation, strategising with the Technical Product Owner to prioritise its mitigation.
  5. Solution Architect: Conceptualise, develop, test, and roll out multifaceted solutions that meet or exceed Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  6. Cloud Strategist: Possess an intimate understanding of Cloud Native application development, steering the organisation's endeavours in the cloud landscape.
  7. Microservice Specialist: Leverage expertise in microservices and containerization to bolster the software ecosystem, ensuring scalability and resilience.
Requirements:
  1. Software Development Expert: An in-depth grasp of software development principles, contemporary technologies, and architectural nuances.
  2. Platform Focused: A staunch believer in treating 'Platform as a Product', ensuring its adaptability, scalability, and reliability.
  3. Tech Savvy: Exceptional software development skills, particularly in languages akin to those used by the organisation (e.g., PHP, TypeScript).
  4. Modern Methodologies: Hands-on experience with cutting-edge practices such as infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD, integrating them seamlessly into the organisation's workflows.
  5. Architectural Acumen: A keen sense of scalable, reliable, and maintainable system design, backed by practical experience.
  6. Distributed Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in distributed systems architecture, leveraging best practices to optimise performance and reliability.
