Job Title: HSE & Training Manager

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced HSE & Training Manager to provide leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental management system. This will involve facilitating the development of an HSE vision and strategy, as well as ensuring compliance with governance requirements.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Implement improvement plans to meet organizational objectives, with a focus on SAQ and LSR requirements and ensure annual SAQ-Reviews are performed;
  • Work closely with the Behaviour Based Safety Steering Committee to advise on HSE matters;
  • Maintain ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH&SMS) for the site;
  • Carry out daily/monthly inspection/audit of HSE&S systems;
  • Support line managers to ensure HSE&S and corporate HSE&S SAQ comply with local HSE regulations, directives, rules, and procedures;
  • Participate in investigations and track follow-up actions identified from incidents or accidents investigations and share learnings from incidents/accidents from other sites;
  • Assist in incident and crisis management;
  • Consolidate HSE reports and submit HSE KPIs to Corporate, BA SMU, and site management and ensure compliant incident/accident reporting via the HSE suit in Enablon.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in an HSE role within the chemical industry;
  • To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate a strong results-driven mindset and a proactive can-do attitude;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, pragmatism, and an energetic management style are indispensable, as well as the ability to use product leadership as the key to persuading stakeholders.
