Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to oversee Storage Area Network (SAN) backup infrastructure, leading a team to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of database systems.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise SAN Backup Architecture, ensuring data recovery capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance backup efficiency, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Deployment

Develop and implement SAN Backup Architecture, safeguarding critical data and ensuring data recovery capabilities.

Maintain enterprise SAN Backup Architecture, hosted on IBM hardware and AIX operating system, with centralized storage system.

Backup and Recovery

Ensure that SAN Backup architecture safeguards critical data and ensures data recovery capabilities.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to backup efficiency, scalability, and security.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with other IT teams to develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans.

Communicate backup processes and procedures to all concerned for effective implementation.

Problem-Solving and Leadership

Manage incident activities for backup and archiving infrastructure.

Supervise vendor coordination to resolve issues.

Propose budget allocations for managing operational expenses.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Telecom/Software/Computer Engineering or related field.
  • At least 4 years' experience in system administration, SAN, backup administration, and management support.

Skills:

  • Expertise in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining enterprise SAN Backup Architecture.
  • Strong understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including data protection and security.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Certifications and Registration:

  • PEC registration mandatory.
