
Sales Engineering Director

The role of a Commercial Sales Engineering Manager is crucial in leading and empowering a team of Sales Engineers to support Commercial sales efforts.
The person in this position will be instrumental in coaching, mentoring, and developing their team, ensuring they possess technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and business acumen necessary to deliver exceptional value to customers.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of Commercial Sales Engineers to ensure effective allocation of resources and consistent delivery of high-quality technical support for commercial sales engagements.
- Collaborate with Commercial Sales Managers to strategize on key accounts, identify customer pain points, and develop tailored technical solutions and demonstration plans.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings to foster a collaborative environment, share best practices, and address challenges.
- Review and approve technical proposals, demonstrations, and presentations prepared by the team.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing guidance and support to the team.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of training materials and programs for Sales Engineers.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new Sales Engineers.
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a leadership or team lead role within a technical pre-sales or Sales Engineering capacity.
- Bachelor's Degree required, Bachelor's of Science preferred.
- Proven experience as an individual contributing Sales Engineer with a strong track record of success.
- Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing talent.
- Strong understanding of commercial sales cycles and the role of pre-sales in accelerating deals.
- Familiarity with value selling concepts and methodologies.
- Strong technical aptitude with a practical experience of SaaS, hardware, IoT, and potentially AI/ML technologies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and propose effective solutions.
