Delivering exceptional patient care is at the heart of every surgical procedure. In this vital role, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for ensuring seamless operations in the Operating Room.
Responsibilities:- Patient identification and preparation are crucial steps in any surgery. You will receive and accurately identify patients scheduled for procedures, guaranteeing their safety and well-being.
- A thorough review of patient files and records is necessary to ensure timely and efficient processing. You will meticulously check patient schedules, verify documentation, and confirm the takeover of patient files.
- Accurate and detailed record-keeping is essential for maintaining high standards of medical practice. You will complete all per-operative documentation, providing clear and concise information regarding patient surgeries.
- Specimen collection and dispatch are critical components of any surgical procedure. You will ensure that specimens are correctly labeled, removed during surgery, and dispatched for investigation as advised by the surgeon.
- Technical expertise and proficiency in different areas of the hospital's scope are expected. You will scrub for designated cases while demonstrating competence in various aspects of your role.
- Safe patient transportation is a top priority. You will assist in transporting patients before and after surgery, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Equipment maintenance and reporting are essential functions of this position. You will promptly report any equipment problems or malfunctions to concerned personnel for rectification.
- Preoperative patient preparation and coordination with scheduling teams are critical for smooth OR list operations. You will work closely with these teams to ensure timely and efficient patient preparation.
- Matriculation with a pre-medical background and Intermediate in any discipline is required.
- Diploma in OT Technician from a reputable institution is mandatory.
- Relevant experience, preferably one year, is highly valued.
- Understanding of basic anatomy/physiology, OR terminologies, and ability to identify surgical instruments is essential.
- Good knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures is necessary.
- Effective communication skills and ability to handle work pressure are paramount.
- Willingness to work in shift duties and at different locations is expected.
