Job Opportunity: Medical Resident in General Surgery

The Department of General Surgery at a prestigious medical institution seeks a highly skilled and motivated Resident Medical Officer to join their dynamic team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment, working closely with experienced consultants and developing essential skills in patient care, surgical procedures, and leadership.

As a Resident Medical Officer, you will be responsible for conducting regular duties and on-calls, performing pre-operative assessments, coordinating with primary teams, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine duties and participate in on-call rotations, working collaboratively with consultants in assigned wards.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Coordinate effectively with primary teams to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain precise documentation, recording clinical notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries as required.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in procedural skills, exercising prudence and caution to prevent potential complications.
  • Ensure patients receive accurate post-operative medications and instructions, explaining their healthcare needs clearly.
  • Stay up-to-date with infection control procedures and adhere to established protocols.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid MBBS degree from a recognized institution by the PMDC.
  • Be FCPS part I qualified in General Surgery.
  • Have completed one year's internship, comprising six months in Surgery and allied disciplines, and six months in Medicine and allied disciplines.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
