Business Proposal Writer Position

About this Job: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented proposal writer to join our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, drafting, editing, and submitting high-quality business proposals and bids in response to requests for proposal (RFPs) across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and potential clients.
  2. Develop and submit high-quality proposals that meet all submission requirements and specifications.
  3. Collaborate with proposal managers to create proposal outlines and manage timelines effectively.
  4. Write, edit, and compile proposal content, including executive summaries, resumes, and project descriptions.
  5. Evaluate and ensure compliance with RFP criteria, such as content, formatting, length, and layout.
  6. Maintain quality using standardized templates and proposal-writing guidelines.
  7. Organize and update related proposal documentation, ensuring easy access and reference.
  8. Track and maintain a log of submitted bids and their outcomes, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
  9. Continuously refine and improve proposal processes, templates, and content libraries, staying up-to-date with industry best practices.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in English Language & Literature or a related field.
  2. At least 6 months to 1 year experience in business proposal writing or bidding, with a proven track record of success.
  3. 2-5 years of experience with government proposals and/or technical proposals is highly beneficial.
  4. Prior experience bidding on freelance marketplaces like Upwork is highly desirable.
  5. Exceptional written communication, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  6. Strong research abilities and understanding of RFP sourcing and evaluation, enabling effective identification of opportunities and development of tailored proposals.
  7. Familiarity with freelance marketplaces and bidding strategies, allowing for informed decision-making and competitive advantage.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), with expertise in creating professional-looking documents and spreadsheets.
  9. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and work independently under pressure, prioritizing tasks and meeting targets efficiently.
  10. Analytical thinker with attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  11. Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring seamless execution of responsibilities and delivery of high-quality results.
