Job Summary

The Steel Plant Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the production of steel bars and billets. This position requires strategic leadership, technical expertise, and a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and safety.

To excel in this role, you will need to develop and implement strategies that drive productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. A collaborative approach is essential, working closely with the planning and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate production scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Excellence:
    • Optimize daily plant operations to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
    • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
    • Develop and maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the production process.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and open communication among team members.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and improve overall performance.
  3. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement short- and long-term plans to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
    • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to ensure compliance.
  5. Financial Management:
    • Monitor and control operational expenses to optimize budget allocation.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through process analysis and optimization.
  6. Maintenance and Equipment:
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.
    • Ensure that all machinery and equipment are operating at peak efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. 20 years of experience or 15+ years of experience with Bachelor in Engineering (Electrical, Metallurgy)
