About the Role:

The Senior Accountant is a key member of our finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. This includes identifying and booking general ledger transactions, preparing and reviewing balance sheet accounts, and providing reliable information for management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Transaction Management: Identify and book general ledger transactions, including tax-related accruals, provisions, payroll, and closing entries, to ensure timely and accurate month-end cut-offs.
  2. Accounting and Tax Compliance: Prepare and review balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliation between sub-ledgers and general ledger, accurate tax provisioning, and completeness of liabilities and assets.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements per legal entity (balance sheet, profit & loss, trial balance), with particular focus on tax-sensitive accounts and reconciliations.
  4. Tax Compliance: Report monthly financials in group tools and ensure local tax compliance and accuracy of tax disclosures.
  5. Statutory Financial Statements: Prepare annual statutory financial statements under local GAAP (e.g., IFRS as adopted in Pakistan) and coordinate tax-related filings such as income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax returns.
  6. Audit Support: Act as the key liaison for tax audits, income tax assessments, and support internal/external audit processes with complete documentation and reconciliations.
  7. Tax Schedules and Computations: Provide detailed tax schedules and support preparation and filing of corporate income tax, sales tax (including STRN compliance), and advance tax computations in line with FBR regulations.
  8. Tax Law Monitoring: Monitor changes in local tax laws and ensure correct application in financial records and compliance practices.
  9. Inventories and Fixed Assets: May review inventory and fixed asset ledgers for tax compliance (e.g., capital allowances, input tax credit).
  10. Withholding Tax Compliance: Support withholding tax compliance (deductions, challans, statements) and ensure timely deposit and reconciliation.
  11. Journal Entries and Discrepancies: Ensure completeness and accuracy of journal entries, investigate discrepancies, and apply accounting and tax standards appropriately.
  12. Additional Responsibilities: May handle accounting and tax compliance for smaller entities or contribute to regional tax projects.
  13. Stakeholder Communication: Respond to internal and external stakeholder queries related to financial and tax matters within their scope.
