FINANCIAL MODELING SPECIALIST

JCM is a fully integrated renewable energy Independent Power Producer developing and operating clean energy projects in South and Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. JCM's largest shareholders are FMO, IFU, FinDev Canada, STOA, and Swedfund. These development finance institutions represent one of the largest investors groups who have collectively financed infrastructure projects across Asia and Africa. As a collaborative team of engineers, lawyers, accountants, and financiers, we manage the risks and complexities of financing and owning infrastructure projects, all the while making a large, measurable, and sustainable impact in the world.

JCM operates over 200MW of high-quality wind and solar assets and delivered the first utility-scale grid connected solar plus energy storage project in Sub-Saharan Africa, located in Malawi. JCM intends to develop and execute a pipeline of wind, solar and energy storage projects in Asia and Africa.

JCM is seeking to hire a Financial Modeling Specialist, based out of Karachi, to support the company's short-term and long- term financial planning and analysis.

JCM requires a proactive, detail oriented, analytical, and hands-on Financial Modeling Specialist who can operate successfully in a complex and fast paced environment. With JCM's commitment to continuous improvement, this position requires proactive leadership capabilities and a strong financial foundation. It will be essential that the Financial Modeling Specialist forge relationships, establish himself/herself as a leader and team player, and gain the trust of the JCM team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

n Develop, review, and regular updates of complex financial models for existing and prospective JCM investments, focusing on renewable energy projects and project financing. Including non-recourse debt financing, from a range of senior lenders (including commercial and development finance institutions).

n Prepare financial models for new investments, including comprehensive scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and financial outcomes assessment, with a focus on optimizing returns and understanding risks.

n Support business development activities by preparing financial projections, scenario planning, and evaluating new business opportunities.

n Provide advanced modeling support for project finance, including cash flow forecasting, debt structuring, and evaluating project-level IRR, NPV, and DSCR.

n Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and changes in macro-economic indicators (interest rates, inflation, exchange rates etc.), be able to update the changes and run sensitivities.

n Support the transaction process management, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders for the successful execution of debt and equity transactions.

n Incorporate insights from due diligence into financial models, investment memorandums, contracts, and presentations for stakeholders. Provide support in preparing investment memos, decks, and other commercial materials where necessary.

n Conduct scenario analysis based on microeconomic and macroeconomic factors to assess business risks and opportunities.

n Automate recurring modeling tasks using VBA and Python to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.

n Create professional presentations for lenders, equity partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company objectives.

n Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and senior management to understand the technical and operational aspects of projects, incorporating them into financial forecasts.

n Provide insights to senior management around financial modeling, forecasts, and project profitability.

n Ability to obtain and understand tax and corporate structuring advices against multiple jurisdictions to incorporate in the financial models.

REQUIREMENTS

n Investment banking experience - Minimum of 7+ years, with a focus on financial modeling.

n 2-5 years of project finance experience, preferably in the renewable energy or power sector.

n Undergraduate degree in finance, business, or related field of study, with CFA designation (either complete or in progress).

n Strong technical and analytical aptitude with expertise in financial modeling, advanced Excel skills, VBA (or Python).

n Ability to prepare pitch decks, model books / assumptions book.

n Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information effectively, verbally as well as presentations.

n Proven ability to deliver on commitments with high quality results in a timely manner.

n Ability to think on your feet and work under pressure in a fast-paced, agile team environment, managing multiple deadlines and internal/external stakeholder expectations.

n An established influencer and team player with excellent communication skills.

n Shows potential for accelerated growth.

n Absorbing large volumes of data from multiple sources (and prioritizing).

n Should be honest, a team player and willing to support other team members when required.

n Able to work under tight timelines and autonomously.

n Highly personable, professional, detail-oriented & organized.

n Potential to grow in the role and assume greater responsibilities.
