Technical Requirements

This position requires a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills as a Cable and Equipment Technician.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and repairing central office and network communications equipment.
  • Locating and repairing business and residential copper and fiber-optic communication cables.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience with telecommunications networks and equipment.
  • Experience with SONET based, long-haul, and metro transport networks.
  • An associate's degree in electronics, telecommunications, or equivalent.
  • Proficient skills with common computer applications, DC power, telco grounding standards, small hand and power tools, and telecommunications testing equipment.
  • Training and/or certification related to IP networking is recommended.
  • The ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
  • A valid driver's license and a clear driving record are required.

This position requires strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
