Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Medical Professor to lead our team in Pathology and Microbiology. As a key member of our academic department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, research, and patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical and Academic Management:
    • Collaborate with the Head of Department to oversee clinical and academic activities within the department.
  • Teaching and Training:
    • Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical skills training sessions for medical students as per the curriculum.
    • Facilitate postgraduate trainees in clinical presentations, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, journal clubs, and preparation for inter-module examinations and dissertations.
  • Research and Development:
    • Coordinate faculty members and postgraduate trainees in research and development through continuous education and learning environments.
    • Assist with publication requirements as part of career development research activities of the department.
  • Patient Care and Management:
    • Convey knowledge on basic management of common patient care problems, including emergency treatment and management of emergencies.
    • Develop clinical and practical skills of students through regular OPD sessions and ward rounds.
  • Staff Supervision and Training:
    • Manage, supervise, and train postgraduate trainees, medical officers, house officers, and paramedical staff to ensure delivery of quality health services.
    • Enhance management skills of staff through close liaison with hospital administration.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and monitor duty rota of the department, including paramedical staff.
    • Resolve staff management and placement issues in a timely manner.
    • Maintain close liaison with hospital administration to ensure proper ward management, including patient clinical records and routine matters related to demand and supply and complaints.
  • Ethics and Compliance:
    • Adhere to Islamic and medical ethics as outlined in the IIMCT mission statement.
    About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in Pathology and Microbiology. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the department's research and academic programs, while maintaining high standards of patient care and service delivery.

Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in Pathology and Microbiology.
  • Postdoctoral experience in academia or industry.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
