GAOC Lead Accountant Role

The Global Accounting Operations Center (GAOC) provides support in accounting activities related to closing the books of Qualcomm affiliates worldwide. Services scope includes preparatory and closing activities in areas like Compensation & Benefit, Treasury, Account receivable, Cash & Banking, Payments, Closing & Reporting, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, and General Accounting.


Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage and perform costing activities such as standard costing, inventory revaluation, and prepare and record properly supported standard entries. They will also perform and review invoices for payment processing, analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure completeness & accuracy, and perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliation according to Qualcomm Policies.


Account Reconciliation and Analysis

The GAOC Lead Accountant will analyze and record activity for certain accounts across the portfolio as assigned. They will also provide ad hoc reports to HQ, local controllership team, and other finance functions, and prepare quarterly balance sheet analysis, review, and remediation.


Leadership and Team Management

This role involves leading a team and handling multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate should be an individual contributor and handle a few team members as well. They will review and approve journal entries posted by team members, reviews and approve balance sheet reconciliations, and quarterly reporting schedules prepared by team members.


Key Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should have a Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant degree with 4-5 years of experience in accounting. They should also have experience in working with ERP instances, excellent written and verbal fluency in English, and ability to learn/understand standards & processes quickly.


Working in a Multi-GAAP Environment

Candidates should have experience in working in a multi-GAAP environment and shared service center. They should also have proficiency in IT skills including Excel and Outlook, and experience in handling team members and delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics.
