We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Self-Assessment Tax Specialist to lead the end-to-end management of UK personal tax returns. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong command of HMRC regulations, proven leadership capabilities, and a client-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accurate and timely preparation of UK Self-Assessment tax returns.\
  • Review submissions prepared by junior staff for HMRC compliance.\

  • Manage the full Self-Assessment lifecycle from data collection to liability communication.\

  • Serve as primary advisor for clients with multifaceted tax situations.\
  • Provide tailored guidance on income, dividends, rental income, capital gains, pensions, and foreign income.\
  • Resolve client queries professionally and efficiently.\
  • Monitor deadlines and proactively engage clients for timely submissions.\

  • Lead and mentor a team of tax assistants and junior staff.\
  • Allocate workloads and ensure accuracy and efficiency.\

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline tax workflows.\
  • Maintain internal dashboards to monitor submission status and team KPIs.\
  • Stay updated on UK tax legislation and ensure team-wide compliance.\

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certification: ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent (preferred).\
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in UK Self-Assessment tax; 2+ years in a supervisory role.\
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software and HMRC systems.\
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and client-handling skills.\
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.\
