Senior Tax Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented tax professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK tax regulations and accounting standards.

Job Summary

The Senior Tax Specialist will be responsible for preparing and filing UK personal and corporate tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, CIS, and Corporation Tax. This role requires the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with UK tax legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file UK personal and corporate tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, CIS, and Corporation Tax.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with UK tax legislation.
  • Manage bookkeeping tasks, with a focus on the construction sector, including CIS compliance.
  • Liaise with clients to provide tax planning, advisory, and compliance support.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, process invoices, and maintain general ledgers.
  • Utilize industry-standard accounting software for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Support clients during HMRC audits and respond to HMRC inquiries as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • ACCA Affiliate or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in UK tax accounting and client management.
  • Proficient in Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK tax regulations and the construction industry's bookkeeping requirements, including CIS.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage multiple client relationships.
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
