Job Description

Rigging artists play a pivotal role in the visual effects process, bringing characters and objects to life through the art of rigging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Asset Rigging: Creating complex 3D character rigs and animation interface controls for skeletal motion systems and body/facial deformations.
  • Tool Development: Scripting and tool writing on all aspects of the pipeline, utilizing Python to implement new tools and update existing ones.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with production, supervisors, and team members to solve problems and share information related to show tasks and workflows.
  • Documentation: Interpreting work-in-progress, dailies, briefings, and feedback; documenting workflows and processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Providing recommendations and suggestions for designs and animatics, ensuring alignment with production schedules.
  • Meet Deadlines: Meeting deadlines, participating in dailies, and attending team reviews of work in progress.
  • Crowd Rigs: Creating and troubleshooting simplified crowd rigs for use with Golaem crowd software.
Requirements
  • Expertise: Proficiency in rigging techniques, Python scripting, and collaboration tools.
  • Education: A degree in computer science, animation, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the visual effects industry, with a focus on rigging and tool development.
