About the Role

This is a leadership position responsible for managing and coordinating resources to deliver software releases of our products. The role involves helping define the vision, definition, and strategy for the development team by driving project initiatives that deliver on the company vision.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with team members to plan and execute projects in PHP and open source applications. Establish realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
  2. Track and report the status of projects on various teams. Ensure that project scope is adequately defined.
  3. Demonstrate leadership abilities to clients through deployment of software enhancements and fixes coordinated based on release schedules.
  4. Develop a software plan that meets future needs of clients on technical challenges of industry demands.
  5. Serve as the technical lead in client meetings implementing our products.
  6. Evolving existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed.
  7. Help resolve both technical and human resources issues. Track and approve vacation and personal days for employees within their teams and monitor individual employees' performance.
  8. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to optimum performance levels and career development.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with coding in VB, .NET, ASP, PHP, etc.
  • Knowledge about databases and DBMSs like MYSQL, MSSQL Server 2002 AND SERIES, MS Access etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management/leadership experience in a software development organization required.
  • At least 1 year experience working through design, development, release cycle delivering software to market.
  • Large/enterprise application development experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the software development cycle.
  • Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in computer programming using Visual Basic or other open source web application frameworks.
  • Project management experience desired.
  • Able to excel in idea generation, evaluation, and prioritization, customer and partner engagement, cross-functional technical program management and building/great engineering teams.
  • Experience with Crystal Reporting.
  • Development of software and hardware recovery automation tools a strong plus.
  • Record of successful delivery of software systems as an individual, team leader and/or development manager.
  • A willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues as part of maintaining skills necessary to manage and advocate products and projects.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with strong product and program management skills.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
