Procurement Leader

As a Procurement Leader, you will be responsible for driving the purchasing strategy and activity of the organization. Your primary objective will be to ensure optimal supplier performance and price, while developing and implementing a strategy to add value, mitigate supply chain risk, and deliver cost savings.

This role requires a strong leader who can manage a team of Buyers and contribute to the overall business objectives. You will work closely with senior management to develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage contract development, contractual relationships, and contract management.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in Technical and Non-Technical procurement, preferably with over 8-10 years of experience. A degree in a commercial or engineering discipline is required, and a Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is preferred.

You will be responsible for creating and implementing best practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance. This includes ensuring that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets.

  • Create and implement effective purchasing strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure optimal supplier performance and price.
  • Lead and manage a team of Buyers to deliver the appropriate support to the business.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
  • Take ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines, and any associated documents.
  • Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards, and delivery terms.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Relevant experience in Technical and Non-Technical procurement.
  • Degree in a commercial or engineering discipline.
  • Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
