Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Unaccounted for Gas (UFG) reduction efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or physical sciences, with at least 17 years of post-qualification experience and 5 years in senior management/leadership roles.

  • The successful applicant will provide overall direction and leadership to curb UFG throughout the company's network/operation.
  • They will examine strategic issues in UFG and demand management, identify alternative options, determine data requirements, and facilitate stakeholders in selecting action steps.
  • Additionally, they will coordinate periodic and on-demand data gathering from operational departments for required analysis to discover points/addressing activities for minimizing UFG.
  • The individual will advise UFG department personnel on analysis direction and presentation of findings.
  • They will also provide guidelines to concerned departments/sections for maintaining foolproof security of gas transmission & distribution related assets.
  • Furthermore, they will guide operating departments in setting priorities for system segmentation/visibility, theft detection, meter replacement, and system rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Industrial Surveys reports and prepare analysis on discrepancies in historical gas consumptions.
  • Review Meter Inspection Reports (MIR) and suggest measures to identify/replace slow meters and improve measurement accuracy.
  • Review leak surveys and rectification targets, gather resources to increase survey of network in high UFG prone areas and segments.
  • Organize meetings with stakeholders, facilitate discussions, resolve differences, and work towards agreed actions/timelines.
  • Monitor progress on management's goals and Key Monitoring Indicators to reduce UFG.
  • Revise plans, milestones, and targets as necessary.
  • Participate in preparation of UFG guidelines for operational departments to strengthen security of gas.
  • Engage with government to respond to inquiries/concerns about UFG performance/cost-cutting initiatives.
  • Guide preparation of UFG related KMI Audit plans, review plans for adequacy/completeness, identify audit resources.
  • Identify and visit UFG prone sites/Regional Offices for monitoring conduct of UFG reduction activities.
  • Escalate critical/resolved issues to CEO/UFG Committee of the Board.
  • Examine vigilance reports/evidence from Security Services and Control Gas Theft Operations raids.
  • Engage Law Enforcement Agencies/concerned executives for corrective/preventive actions.
  • Prepare policies/guidelines for public awareness program/plan and implement through Counter Theft campaign.
  • Review drafts of presentations for management/OGRA/UFG Committee of the Board.
  • Ensure timely development of periodic progress reports on UFG reduction plan.
