The Environmental Management Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's environmental policies are upheld and implemented effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations, certifications, and sustainability principles.
About the Role- Lead the implementation and maintenance of our Environmental Management System, aligning with ISO 14001 standards and applicable regulations.
- Ensure environmental management processes are compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments to identify potential impacts and develop strategies for mitigation.
This position involves collaborating with departments to establish measurable environmental objectives and targets. You will also be responsible for monitoring progress toward achieving environmental goals and facilitating necessary adjustments.
Key Responsibilities- Promote awareness of environmental responsibilities and sustainability practices among employees.
- Establish and maintain systems for monitoring and measuring environmental performance.
- Plan and conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Environmental Management is highly desirable.
- 2+ years of experience in implementing and managing environmental management systems within an ISO 14001 framework.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data and drive continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with sustainability principles and initiatives.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and address environmental concerns.
- Effective communication of environmental performance to internal and external stakeholders.
