We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing effective environmental management systems that align with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001-compliant environmental management systems.
- Ensure environmental processes align with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential environmental impacts.
- Collaborate with departments to develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish measurable environmental objectives and targets.
- Monitor progress towards achieving environmental goals.
- Stay informed about relevant environmental laws and regulations.
- Evaluate compliance with environmental permits and licenses.
- Develop training programs for employees on environmental policies and procedures.
- Promote awareness of environmental responsibilities and sustainable practices.
- Establish monitoring systems for environmental performance.
- Plan and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement waste management programs to minimize environmental impact.
- Identify opportunities for resource efficiency and sustainability.
- Communicate environmental performance to stakeholders.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and address environmental concerns.
- Coordinate external audits and certifications.
To be successful as an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Environmental Management is highly desirable.
- 2+ years of experience in implementing and managing environmental management systems, preferably within an ISO 14001 framework.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Attention to detail with analytical skills.
- Familiarity with sustainability principles and initiatives.
