Job Title: Project Department Manager

This role is responsible for the timely and quality implementation of all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and monitor projects staff, including workloads and work planning.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to projects staff.
  • Ensure proper transfer of know-how among staff levels.
  • Oversee the process of selecting/hiring suitable individuals for the project team.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Joint Management Committee (JMC).
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and approve analysis of concept notes proposed by partners.
  • Organize field visits of senior staff and donor representatives.
  • Search for consultants able to provide guidance and assistance if needed.
  • Ensure the visibility of donors as required.
  • Prepare reports for donors and others in a timely and quality manner.
  • Ensure that the project monitoring and evaluation systems are efficient and responsive to stakeholders' needs.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years experience in field development work with NGOs.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and monitoring projects.
  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong staff management interpersonal and team leading skills.
  • Proven experience gained at examining and re-engineering policies, operations, and procedures.
  • Previous experience of relationship building with multilateral donors and partners.

  • Critical thinking.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Sciences or other relevant discipline and at least 5-10 years of experience in field development work with NGOs. The successful candidate will be highly independent and self-motivated with excellent communication skills and strong leadership abilities.
