Data Architect Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead our team in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise data architecture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating robust data models, ensuring data integrity, and implementing scalable database solutions using SQL and Python.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical data solutions while maintaining the highest standards of data quality and governance. Key responsibilities include designing and developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support business objectives and ensure scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop data models that support business objectives and ensure scalability
  • Create and maintain enterprise data architecture blueprints, including data flow diagrams and entity-relationship diagrams
  • Establish data modeling standards and best practices across the organization
  • Develop dimensional models for data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives
Database Management & Data Integrity
  • Implement and maintain database integrity constraints, including primary keys, foreign keys, unique constraints, and check constraints
  • Design and implement data validation rules and quality checks using SQL and Python
  • Develop automated data quality monitoring systems and exception handling processes
  • Create and maintain database performance optimization strategies, including indexing and partitioning schemes
Technical Implementation
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data transformation and analysis
  • Develop Python scripts for data pipeline automation, ETL processes, and data quality validation
  • Design and implement data integration solutions across multiple platforms and systems
  • Build reusable Python libraries and SQL templates for common data operations
Data Governance & Standards
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures
  • Define data retention, archival, and purging strategies
  • Implement data security measures and access controls
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, dictionaries, and lineage
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Mentor junior team members on data modeling techniques and best practices
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper implementation of data structures
  • Lead data architecture review sessions and provide technical guidance
Required QualificationsExperience
  • Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database design
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Extensive experience with both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) systems
  • Demonstrated success in managing data integrity in complex, high-volume environments
  • 2-3 years experience in Fintech industry would be a plus
Technical Skills
  • SQL Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL, including query optimization, stored procedures, performance tuning, and query plan analysis
  • Python Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, including database connectivity, data quality frameworks, and data modeling
