Medical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for extracting relevant information from patient records, examining documents for missing information, and assigning CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ASA codes.

  • Extracting relevant information from patient records
  • Examining documents for missing information
  • Assigning CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ASA codes
  • Assigning APC and DRG codes
  • Ensuring documents are grammatically correct and free from typing errors
  • Performing chart audits
  • Advising and training physicians and staff on medical coding when required
  • Informing supervisor of issues with equipment and computer program
  • Ensuring compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines
Requirements:
  • Must have graduated from a certified university with a medical background
  • Should have strong English speaking, writing, and listening skills
