Job Title: Assistant Professor in PsychiatryOverview

The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Psychiatry. The university is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network.

The Department of Psychiatry has a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and clinical service. We offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, consultation, and treatment services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Treatment modalities include pharmacotherapy, ECT, individual and family therapy, and behavior management techniques. Subspecialties include Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry.

Responsibilities
  • You will have an independent consultant status and undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and specified administrative activities.
  • You should have demonstrated scholarship through research, publications, and contribution to education.
Requirements
  • You should have completed postgraduate training and possess FCPS, FRCS, American Board or equivalent with subsequent clinical, teaching, and research experience.
  • For Senior Instructor, you should have at least two years' experience in a reputable institution.
  • Applicants for Assistant Professor should have at least two years' experience as Senior Instructor or equivalent.
  • Applicants for Associate Professor should have at least eight years of teaching/research experience in an HEC recognized University with five years post-terminal teaching experience and a minimum of 10 research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC, with at least 4 publications in the last five years.
