Women Field Trainer

CABI (Regional Bioscience Centre, Pakistan)

  • Conducts baseline surveys for women farmers and farm workers information.
  • Mobilizes the farming community to adopt the Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS).
  • Promotes participation in designing and implementing activity plans for maximum farmer/farm worker engagement.
  • Develops and adheres to monthly work and training plans with field teams.
  • Delivers training sessions on BCI standards and Good Agriculture Practices (GAPs) via Farmer Field School (FFS) approach for maximum outreach.
  • Maintains records of women farmers/workers trainings, adoption, and field activities at BCI Farm and Producer Unit level.
  • Facilitates record keeping for women farmers/ farm workers.
  • Establishes and maintains GAP demo plots and visitor information with cost-sharing data.
  • Facilitates credibility checks and assessments of registered cotton growers.
  • Coordinates gender inclusion and climate change mitigation among registered better cotton farmers.
  • Prepares progress reports for submission to line managers.
  • Organizes field visits, meetings, and field days.
  • Collects, verifies, and submits required data within specified timeframes.
  • Submits fortnightly progress reports and success stories to line managers.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture.
  • Experience in social mobilization among farming communities.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of BCI production principles and criteria.
  • Understanding of cotton production technology and sustainability issues.

ROLE DETAILS:

  • Reports to: Producer Unit Manager.
  • No. of positions: 4.
  • Contract: 8 months with a 3-month probation period.
  • Salary Range: PKR 44,000 (Gross). Benefits will be deducted from gross salary.
  • Location: Haroonabad, District Bahawalnagar. Local candidates are preferred.
    • The recruitment process may start before the closing date due to urgent needs.
    • Candidates with relevant experience will be given preference.
