Job Title: Database Administrator

At the core of our data management, we require a seasoned professional to oversee and maintain the integrity of our databases.

  • We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with a solid background in database design, implementation, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of relational databases, database modeling, and database performance tuning.

Suitability

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong foundation in computer science or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with programming languages such as PL/SQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with AWS EC2 and RDS is a plus but not mandatory.

In addition, you should possess:

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities

This role involves:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Providing first-level support for Postgres and MySQL environments.
  • Creating scripts and SQL queries to optimize database operations.
  • Maintaining backup and recovery processes to prevent data loss.
  • Analyzing database activity to identify potential issues and propose improvements.
  • Documenting changes and adhering to Change Management methodologies.
  • Monitoring database performance and recommending optimization techniques.
  • Ensuring compliance with security measures to protect company data.
  • Performing regular tests to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
