Microbiologist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist to fill this position.

About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the development of new products and processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Resource Management: Plan and organize resources and activities to ensure efficient workflow, coordinating effectively with team members.
  2. Sampling and Quality Control: Follow regular sampling schedules within specific environments, collecting samples from various sources such as agricultural sites, and conducting quality control in manufacturing processes by checking for signs of contamination.
  3. Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, write research findings, and produce reports that inform decision-making.
  4. Professional Development: Stay current with new research, attend national and international conferences, and collaborate with colleagues from non-scientific departments.
  5. Teaching and Training: Educate students, prepare assessments, and provide constructive feedback.
  6. Consulting and Advice: Offer information and guidance to colleagues and external organizations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  1. Observation and Identification: Observe, monitor, and identify microorganisms in various settings.
  2. Sampling and Testing: Track microorganisms, monitor and assess samples from different sources, and utilize molecular techniques to test samples.
  3. Product Development: Develop new techniques, products, and processes, plan methods to prevent disease spread, and develop and register new medicines, vaccines, diagnostic tests, and pharmaceutical products.
  4. Clinical Trials: Plan, implement, and evaluate new products in clinical trials.
  5. Product Creation: Develop products such as enzymes, vitamins, hormones, and antimicrobials, and cultivate microbial cultures for use in the food and beverage industry or in agriculture.
  6. Research and Analysis: Work with specialist computer software to undertake studies and research, manage laboratory work, and oversee quality control procedures.
