Engineering Team Lead

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced engineering team lead to join our team. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers in the completion of projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers in the completion of projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Develop detailed plans for new designs and products, taking into account technical feasibility and business requirements.
  • Propose and manage project budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Conduct research and development for new designs, products, and processes, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
  • Ensure the technical accuracy of the team's work, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Coordinate work with other managers and departments, promoting collaboration and effective communication.
  • Oversee maintenance, testing, quality assurance, operations, and production activities, ensuring seamless execution.

Requirements

  • 8+ years total professional software development experience, including 3+ years directly managing engineers.
  • Advanced, hands-on expertise in PHP (8.x) and Laravel (10.x) — you still enjoy diving deep into frameworks, queues, events, and Eloquent ORM.
  • Proven record in architecting and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs, micro-services, or monoliths refactored toward service-oriented patterns.
  • Strong grasp of relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL), query optimization, and migration strategies.
  • Experience with modern front-end stacks (Vue.js, React, or similar) sufficient to collaborate effectively with full-stack developers.
  • Solid CI/CD tooling knowledge (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar), containerization with Docker, and at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and performance-managing developers, running technical interviews, and scaling teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; able to draft clear technical docs and communicate with senior leadership.
