Job Title: Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator will play a pivotal role in strengthening awareness and reducing GBV risks at the community level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering relationships with community stakeholders and promoting support for survivors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Community Outreach and Awareness-Raising:
  • Conduct regular outreach within communities to raise awareness of GBV risks and the availability and benefit of GBV response services.
  • Build strong relationships with community members and promote support for survivors.
  • Organize and facilitate community discussions on GBV-related topics, including SASA Together and EMAP approaches.
  • Encourage community participation in GBV prevention and risk mitigation efforts.
Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Collect and document community feedback, monitoring distribution of dignity kits where relevant.
  • Track progress of prevention and risk mitigation program activities.
Coordination, Advocacy and Representation:
  • Coordinate regularly with community stakeholders to strengthen GBV risk mitigation and prevention efforts.
  • Collaborate with other sector mobilizers/outreach teams, promoting a survivor-centered approach in all activities.
  • Represent program goals and GBV standards effectively.
Security and Conduct:
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies, fostering a safe and supportive working environment for all staff and partners.
  • Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality.
  • Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working with community groups required.
• Demonstrated commitment to core principles of GBV programming, including gender equality and survivor-centered support services.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills to lead individual and group discussions.
• Trusted member of the community
• Fluency in written and spoken English and local language requirements.
