Job Title: Facilities Manager

Aga Khan University seeks a qualified individual to fill the role of Facilities Manager in its technical department. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the administrative team and Biomedical management, ensuring alignment of priorities and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Facilities Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between the technical team and Biomedical management, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • They will work closely with other departments to streamline processes, ensuring smooth execution of projects and maintaining effective workflows.
  • Responsibilities include providing support during project planning, assessing feasibility and resource needs, developing and implementing administrative systems for tracking team activities and project timelines, and handling documentation.
  • The Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing inventory and procurement of technical and administrative materials and equipment, maintaining and updating department databases, submitting timely reports, and preparing presentations as assigned.
  • Additional responsibilities include identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains within the technical operations, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in a technical department administrative role.
  • Strong background in document management and administrative support functions, with proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira).
Knowledge and Competencies:
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to quickly grasp concepts and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and meet tough deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze data and generate reports on team performance, operational metrics, and resource utilization. They will also demonstrate a strong understanding of resource planning, budgeting, and documentation management principles.
