Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee engineering aspects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration and successful project delivery.

  • Key Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Establish solar PV system design parameters, including module selection, string sizing, ground coverage ratio, inverter selection, inverter power factor requirements, inverter loading ratio, and cable sizing
  • Design solar PV systems, incorporating 1-line diagrams and array layouts
  • Demonstrate proficiency in structural, mechanical, and electrical design skills, with expertise in generating accurate and detailed construction drawings and documents using AutoCAD
  • Collaborate closely with project development and construction teams to ensure effective design, development, and construction of solar PV systems
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to tasks, particularly when analyzing current technical tools, and evaluating their effectiveness
  • Perform energy simulation analysis using PVsyst to support business development initiatives
  • Collaborate with suppliers and third-party personnel to facilitate design and development of solar PV systems
  • Assist in creating comprehensive reports for finance and business development teams
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving within the team
  • Develop a high level of familiarity with the National Electric Code Book regarding PV solar systems

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and other relevant design software; excellent communication and collaboration skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in solar PV engineering or related field
