Job Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the month-end/quarter-end close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting guidelines. Key tasks include AR aging and reporting, billings and collections data, accruals, deferrals, and classifications of revenues and expenses, balance sheet account reconciliations, payables management, treasury management, and fixed assets management.

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records using advanced Excel workbooks and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP).
  • Reviewing customer contracts to ensure appropriate entries are booked during month-end/quarter-end close, taking into account IFRS 15 requirements.
  • Assisting with quarter-end and year-end deliverables to other teams, including the Corporate team and External Auditors.
  • Developing a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Working closely with business managers on the monthly forecast; ensuring accuracy of forecast in Jedox for reporting.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement to automate as much of the financial reporting processes as possible.

Professional Requirements:

  • Being proactive in ensuring processes are completed end-to-end and all deliverables are submitted in a timely manner by the team.
  • Maintaining a continuous improvement mindset and proactively identifying, reviewing, and implementing process improvements.
  • Taking action to resolve matters when the team is not receiving the information or support required, and escalating when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in a leadership role.
  • Financial knowledge in the software/IT field, specifically with financial operations and accounting guidelines.
  • A strong understanding of accounting guidelines, particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 16, is required.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including advanced use of Excel workbooks and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Great Plains is preferred.
  • A Professional Accounting Designation is required.
