Business Analyst - Financial Planning Role

This is a critical position within the Finance team, providing key support to stakeholders through financial data analysis and understanding performance trends. As a Senior Business Finance Analyst, you will collaborate closely with various business units to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

  • Be a strategic partner across financial and commercial decisions, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly performance dashboards and reports that cater to business needs.
  • Analyze business performance to uncover trends, patterns, and initial insights and report significant variances to facilitate corrective action.
  • Recommend operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain annual/quarterly/monthly budgets and forecasts that align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate month-end book closure and financial reporting, providing timely feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Financial Data Analysis
  • Retrieve data from multiple sources (SQL databases, APIs, and third-party tools) to support in-depth analysis and inform business decisions.
  • Prepare and clean datasets to ensure accuracy and usability for analysis, applying industry best practices and quality control measures.
  • Maintain high-quality data, verifying and validating information on a regular basis to ensure consistency and reliability for decision-making.
  • Conduct advanced data analytics for ad hoc business cases and deep dives into operational and financial results, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Redash, and SQL to create insightful reports that drive business decisions and strategy.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees like MBA, CA, or CFA are highly valued.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, finance, accounting, or related areas within the tech sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using BI and reporting tools, with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent quantitative skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, PowerBI, Redash, and SQL.
  • A high level of commercial acumen and business understanding, with the ability to drive growth and innovation.
  • High ownership and proactiveness, with a strong drive to learn and grow.
