Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for the development, management, and coordination of a speech and language program for students/trainees with oral communication challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consultation: Provide professional inputs to support understanding of clients' speech, language, and communication difficulties to teachers, parents/caregivers, professional staff, administrators, and the public.
  • Avoidance of misunderstandings by offering practical ideas and recommendations in goal setting, intervention program selection, and design.
  • Assessment: Identify, assess, diagnose, treat, and follow up on students/trainees with speech and language disorders, including swallowing difficulties.
  • Measure treatment outcomes and conduct continuous evaluation.
  • Apply effective practices and programs to improve service quality.
  • Maintain efficient client records and documentation.
  • Treatment Strategies: Implement intervention programs based on assessment results and documented evidence.
  • Discharge Planning: Document discharge criteria, including achievement of objectives or inability to benefit from therapy, and refer to other services as needed.
Requirements
  • Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant work experience with children to young adults with intellectual disability (advantageous).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid practising certificate with Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC).
