About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Monitoring Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for tracking project activities, compiling information against agreed milestones, and verifying targeting and prioritization.

The successful candidate will have a first-level university degree in public administration, social sciences, economics & statistics and at least four years of experience in monitoring & evaluation. They will also have strong analytical skills, ability to produce good quality reports, and fluency in English language, Urdu, and local languages.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of technical staff positioned at various levels and report directly to the Project Manager/Coordinator or as designated by Head of Provincial Office KP WFP. You will liaise with cooperating partners, district authorities, and internal counterparts to collate programme information and their feedback to support programme reviews and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tracking of project activities through activity tracking matrix to ensure all activities are implemented in line with the agreement signed with the cooperating partners and government counterpart departments.

  • Compile information against the agreed milestones of the project with various organizations and communities and share performance against planned targets.

  • Verify the targeting and prioritization (i.e., beneficiary registration and planned activities in selected villages) are carried out as per Green Climate Fund's Full Proposal and/or as per WFP internal procedures.

  • Perform monitoring of ongoing activities and ensure all activities, including the training sessions are conducted by the relevant parties as per the agreements.

  • Ensure effective oversight maintained during cash disbursement to the targeted beneficiaries for ensuring only registered beneficiaries receive their entitlements in dignified manners.

  • Perform different types of assessments to document the benefits of WFP interventions on target communities e.g., food security outcome monitoring, end of project assessment and/or assessment of climate change related indicators etc.

  • Support the baseline, mid-term, and end-term assessments of the project.

  • Compile all reported issues in tracking matrix and maintain follow-up with the relevant staff for ensuring their timely resolution.

  • Perform purposive monitoring visits to follow-up on critical issues surfaced through internal and external sources i.e., WFP beneficiary feedback mechanism, government authorities, UN coordination office etc.

  • Liaise with cooperating partners, district authorities and internal counterparts to collate programme information and their feedback to support programme reviews and evaluation.

  • Where necessary, represent WFP at coordination forum(s) and accordingly update WFP provincial office.

  • Provide guidance to the cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.

  • Prepare and timely share the field mission reports to document programme implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in monitoring & evaluation with at least four years of experience in the field. A first-level university degree in public administration, social sciences, economics & statistics is required. The candidate should also have strong analytical skills, ability to produce good quality reports, and fluency in English language, Urdu, and local languages.
